Most synthesizer players are former (and in some cases, continuing) pianists with a professional or pre-profile musical education. However, a novice keyboard player does not need to be proficient in musical notation in order to play.

It is necessary

  • Synthesizer;
  • A pen and a piece of paper

Instructions

Step 1

This article is not intended to discredit classical music education. On the contrary, knowledge of the basics of musical theory greatly simplifies the work of a musician. The question of studying solfeggio and related sciences is exclusively a matter of the performer's convenience and attitude to playing the synthesizer.

Step 2

The keyboard of a keyboard synthesizer has the same structure as a piano keyboard: notes are arranged in octaves and separated by groups of black keys (two or three). For convenience, remember the letter or syllabic name of each note: "C" - C is the white key to the left of the pair of black keys. Further, white keys in a row: "re" - D, "mi" - E, "fa" - F, "sol" - G, "la" - A, "si" - B or H (in the pop tradition, the first option, in classical second).

Step 3

To play a chord, hold down three white keys one by one. In the specified scale, you will get three major chords, three minor and one diminished. Major: С, F, G, - written in the form of one capital letter (sometimes dur is added after the letter - "major"). Minor: d, e, a - written in lowercase letters, sometimes with the postscript mol - "minor". The diminished B chord is written as Bdim.

Step 4

Draw a four-cell table on a checkered sheet. Write one chord in each of them in the following order: C, a mol, d mol, G. This is the diagram of the left hand part. Repeat each chord four times in an even rhythm in the bass register.

Step 5

With a little practice, attach your right hand. As a rule, in pop music, the melody is built on the basis of improvisation. Try to play simple moves using sounds not only from chords, but also located nearby. Celebrate good results and use them from now on.

Step 6

Create other left-hand chord progressions. In the right one, compose a melody, gradually complicating the moves. Experiment with sounds and effects, divide the keyboard into sectors.
