Step 1
The way you store the petals depends on the purpose for which you are going to use them in the future. If you want your apartment to smell pleasantly with the scent of roses, the petals must be salted. To do this, collect the rose petals from the bushes that are strongest in their flowering season. This is best done in the late morning in dry weather. Place the plucked petals in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid and sprinkle thickly with salt. Then the salted petals should be tamped tightly and covered with a lid. After a few days, your can can be used instead of an air freshener. One has only to open it a little, and the room will be filled with a wonderful aroma.
Step 2
If you want to arrange rose petals around the house for decorative purposes, melt a candle, dip the petals in hot wax, and let them solidify. Also, if you plan to use dry petals for the same purposes, take a bouquet, tie the stems of the flowers and hang it to dry with its heads down somewhere in a dry, cool and dark place. When the flowers are dry, pick off the petals from the rose.
Step 3
Pour a layer of semolina, about 5 cm thick, into an old shoebox, put rose petals there, sprinkle with cereals on top and leave for one and a half to two weeks. After the expiration of the prescribed period, remove and gently remove the adhering semolina with a blush brush or a hard squirrel watercolor brush. Such petals will be stored for a very long time.
Step 4
If you feel sorry for translating semolina, then instead of it, rose petals can be dried in the sand. The sand itself for these purposes must necessarily be dry, therefore, before using it, it is better to spread it out on a newspaper and let it dry for several days. Then, just like in the previous method, pour the sand into the box, put the rose petals and sprinkle them with sand on top. Flowers dried in this way also have a very long shelf life.
