Rose is a very delicate and demanding flower. Keeping a rose in water is not an easy task. It is sensitive to the environment and will fade very quickly if not properly cared for. Using simple techniques, you can extend the life of a whole bouquet of roses.

Step 1
Any transportation of the plant can have a detrimental effect on its condition. They can suffer from dehydration. So first, free the flowers from the wrapping paper and soak them in water for 3 hours. To do this, put the roses in a deep bucket of water. This procedure will not be superfluous for freshly cut flowers.
Step 2
Submerge the flowers in the water so that the leaves, along with the stems of the plants, are completely covered in the liquid. Make sure that no water gets on the buds and flowers. A stained rose can rot.
Step 3
Prepare the water in which you plan to place roses permanently. Water can be tap water - boiled or settled raw.
Step 4
Small amounts of chlorine in the water will not harm the rose. It will prevent putrefactive bacteria from multiplying. Also, use one aspirin tablet or a small amount of citric acid, about a pinch, to disinfect water.
Step 5
Add sugar to the prepared, rose-safe water. To do this, dissolve one tablespoon of granulated sugar in one liter of water.
Step 6
Pour this solution into a vase. The vase should be high enough. There should be a stem 18 cm long under the water.
Step 7
Before placing flowers in it, update the slices on the stems of the plants. To do this, take a sharp stainless steel knife and cut off the tip of the stem approximately 3 cm long.
Step 8
Prune in water. This will prevent air from entering, which can interfere with the oxygen saturation of the rose.
Step 9
To increase the area of contact of the flower with water, form an oblique cut. Trim the tip of the stem daily to keep the rose better and longer.
Step 10
Use a knife to remove all leaves in contact with water, which will rot in a humid environment and damage the rose. Change the water every two days, rinsing the vase well. In the morning or afternoon, spray the outer rose petals with a spray bottle. When doing this, try not to spray the center of the bud.
Step 11
Protect cut roses from drafts, heat and cold. The room temperature should be 18-22 degrees. Regularly, once every 2-3 days, prune the stem of the plant under water. With good care, roses will delight you for a month.
