In order to draw a Labrador, it is necessary to highlight the characteristic features of this breed in the drawing of an ordinary dog - relatively short and strong legs, a flat forehead and drooping ears, a straight line of the back and a solid color.

Instructions

Step 1

Begin your drawing by constructing construction parts. Draw an oval located on the long side, its length should be 2.5-3 times its width. Step back a small distance from one edge, draw two lines, later they will be the front paws. The sections corresponding to the hind legs must be started from the very end of the other part of the body. Please note that Labradors are quite short-legged, so the length of the auxiliary segments should correspond to the width of the body at its largest part. At a short distance from the large oval, place another, smaller one. Its length should not exceed the width of the first, since Labradors do not have a large head.

Step 2

Draw the face of the Labrador. Using a concave line, remove part of the auxiliary oval, thus outlining the nose. Finish it off with an area devoid of hair and draw round nostrils. From the center line of the nose with rounded lines, select the flews, they are not as large as, for example, in the St. Bernard, but larger than in the shepherd. Draw a small lower jaw. At the level of the transition from the nose to the forehead, draw oval eyes, they are set straight, and not like, for example, greyhounds on the sides of the head. The outer corners of the eyes are at about the same level as the inner ones, in contrast to the Chow Chow. Select the dense brow ridges and flat forehead, mark the midline on it. Along it there is a change in the direction of wool growth.

Step 3

Draw ears on both sides of the head. They have a triangular shape with rounded edges and are not set high, as, for example, in Dobermans. Their size corresponds to the length of the nose, they are bent downward and, as a rule, are tightly pressed to the head.

Step 4

Outline the curve of the short neck with smooth lines. Draw them from both sides from the body to the head. Draw the protruding sternum of the dog.

Step 5

Start drawing the body. Highlight the ribcage and sunken abdomen. In the place where the hind legs begin, depict a longer coat. On the rest of the body, it is dense and short.

Step 6

Draw the legs of the Labrador Retriever. They are quite strong, the transition from the thigh to the lower leg on the hind limbs is clearly visible. Draw the joints and muscles. Finish the paws with short toes.

Step 7

Don't forget the tail. In Labradors, it is not very short, but also not long. Its entire surface is covered with dense short hair.

Step 8

Color in the drawing. For wool, use a black, gold, fawn or coffee shade. Purebred dogs do not have spots, only the presence of a light spot on the chest is permissible.
