The guitar consists of two parts - body and neck. The neck of the guitar is divided into frets, which are separated from each other by nut. The number of nuts varies from 19 to 32, they must all be on the same line. The neck of the guitar has a metal rod - anchor. With the help of it, the deflection of the neck is regulated. Over-tensioning the guitar strings will pull the neck up.

Instructions

Step 1

Pinch the first fret and the fretboard with your finger. Check the distance between the string and the top of the seventh fret. At this point, the deflection of the neck should be at its maximum. If the string is on the 7th fret and there is no gap, then you probably have a straight neck or curved back. In this case, adjust the anchor.

Step 2

If the clearance at the seventh fret is greater than 0.5 mm, the anchor must be tightened. To do this, turn the anchor rod nut clockwise. You need to twist very slowly and carefully, checking the deflection each time.

Step 3

Leave the guitar for a few minutes after each turn of the nut, as the deflection may not be seen immediately. If the gap is less than 0, 20 mm, in this case the nut should be turned counterclockwise.

Step 4

If you have not yet learned how to adjust the truss rod, it is best if done by professionals. Also, pay close attention to the pitch of the guitar while adjusting.
