It can be so offensive when you need to sew something, but the machine does not sew, loops, tears the thread, tightens the fabric. An even, beautiful stitching does not work, and you have to go to the atelier and take the sewing machine to the master. However, most often the problem is the incorrectly adjusted thread tension. It is not difficult to make such a setting on your own; it is important to have the machine's manual and time for experiments on hand.

Instructions
Step 1
To check the quality of the stitching, sew a test stitch on a piece of the fabric you want to sew before basic sewing. The ideal stitch is one with the upper and lower thread weaving in the middle of the fabric to be sewn.
Step 2
Begin adjusting the tension from the bobbin thread. This thread is wound around a bobbin, which is inserted into the bobbin case. The regulator is a screw on the bobbin case that presses the spring. If you lift the bobbin case by the thread coming out of it, then it will hang safely on it. With a slight twitching of the thread, the cap should slide down a little. Adjust the thread tension to the desired tension by twisting or releasing the screw. Turn the screwdriver just a little, because the screw is very small and can pop out.
Step 3
After following the above operation, sew a test stitch on the fabric. Further adjustments will be made with the upper thread tension regulator. As a rule, this block is located on the front of the machine and does not require special tools for twisting.
Step 4
Take a close look at the stitching made. If there are shaggy air loops on the top of the fabric, loosen the upper thread tension. To do this, turn the regulator knob counterclockwise. If the shaggy stitch is from the bottom, then turn the tension adjuster in the opposite direction - clockwise. This will tighten the upper thread tension.
Step 5
Check the stitch quality after adjusting. Sew the folded patch and compare it to the very first piece. Remember that the adjustment depends on the thread thickness and the quality of the fabric.
