Each wardrobe has cozy knitwear made from wool and cotton yarns. They are comfortable and we wear them with pleasure. But knitted sweaters accumulate, which are stretched after washing and have ceased to fit in size or are simply out of fashion. You can alter such things and find new uses for them.
It is necessary
Scissors, iron, sewing machine, ironing cloth, threads, pieces of knitted fabric, applique fabric, braid, beads, buttons
Instructions
Step 1
Make a jacket for your child out of your sweatshirt. There is always a boring knitted thing in the wardrobe. Wash it in hot water and rinse. The wool will shrink and the knit will become denser. Spread the jacket on a towel, straighten and dry. Steam with a non-hot iron (1300) through a damp cloth so that there are no waves. Cut out a jacket for a child from dense woolen parts. The children's blouse can also be updated. Pull on the sleeves and bottom if they become short or hopelessly damaged by stains. Choose knitwear that matches the texture and matches the color. Cut strips out of it for an extension, taking into account the hem on the seams. Shorten the sleeves and bottom of the garment by cutting off strips of the intended length. Sew new details to the sleeves and bottom of the sweater with a knit stitch. Iron new seams with a non-hot iron through a damp cloth. Decorate the joints with braid or embroidery. Hide a large stain with an appliqué. To make it look harmonious, take into account the color, size and theme when choosing.
Step 2
Refresh the stale knit with additional details. If the color of the sweater is unsuccessful, pick up embroidery with threads or beads. Place the embroidery on the neckline or on the chest to accentuate the color. You can also decorate a boring thin sweater. Change the neckline. Process it and place embroidery, original braid, buttons or rhinestones along the cutout. If the bottom and sleeves of the knitted sweater are stretched, then cut off part of the deformed fabric. Choose a knitwear or fabric that is suitable in structure and color, cut out stripes for the bottom and sleeves of the product. Sew new parts to your jacket, steam through a damp cloth. Decorate the hem, being careful about everything.
Step 3
Sew a girl's skirt out of a sweater. Unfasten the sleeves, measure the required length, taking into account the hem on the belt. Mark the edge line with colored stitches or tailoring pins. Use scissors to cut along the stitches, fold over the edge, and hem it with a knit seam from the wrong side. Thread the elastic, steam the skirt through a damp cloth with an iron at the “wool” position.
