Cacti come in a wide variety of shapes and vary greatly in size. A cactus can be an exquisite decoration for your windowsill, or it can grow on a plain on which dashing cowboys gallop. In this case, the plant can be taller than a cowboy sitting on a horse. Almost any cactus can be divided into several parts. Their form will be understandable even to a person who has never drawn in his life. Many cacti are made up of breakable "cakes" or "sticks", some grow like large thorny pillars, while others look like fluffy or thorny green rocks.

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - a simple pencil;
  • - colored pencils or paints;
  • - cactus flower or picture.

Instructions

Step 1

Consider a cactus. What parts does it consist of? The prickly pear has a lot of "cakes" that easily break off and bite into inappropriate places, but it is most convenient to draw it. Mamillaria grow in groups of several columns. Start painting with mamillaria. Calculate the approximate ratio of thickness to height and draw a slightly curved column. It is not recommended to use a ruler, otherwise you will not get overgrown mamillaria, but something similar to a fence.

Step 2

Round the top of the post. On the column, mark the pimples from which the needles grow. Paint over the column with green paint or pencil. Draw needles to the pimples. Before that, carefully consider how long they are. Draw a few more mamillaria next to it. By the way, these cacti bloom more often than others, so you can decorate one of the columns with a white flower.

Step 3

When you learn how to draw mamillaria, you can try to depict prickly pear. Start drawing from the bottom, just like a cactus grows. Determine the ratio of the thickness to the height of the lowest "cake" and draw it.

Step 4

Mark the "branches" of the cactus - the directions in which the rest of the "cakes" grow. Segments, other than those that have just appeared, usually do not vary much in size. The main thing is to position them at the desired angle to the base. Draw segments of the desired thickness all the way to the top of the plant.

Step 5

Pay attention to the color of your cactus. Opuntia are either light green or very dark. Pick the color you want. The color of these plants is usually uniform, so there is no need to mix paints. If the prickly pear is very dark, the needles can be painted with white wax crayon so that they are clearly visible.

Step 6

You can try drawing other types of cacti as well. Some of them look like a small pumpkin with grooves. Draw the outline first. Pay attention to the shape of the grooves. You need to transfer the volume. If you draw the grooves from above, then they expand towards the "equator" and narrow again at the bottom. The needles can grow either one at a time or in groups.
