Satin stitching allows you to create three-dimensional images on the fabric with clear boundaries. This technique is more suitable than any other for creating a five-pointed star pattern.

Instructions
Step 1
Draw a five-pointed star on white paper as you drew it at school, without taking your hands off. Try to keep the rays of the same length and shape. Cut out the workpiece, place it on the fabric in the right place, circle with a remnant or chalk, if they are well sharpened, or with a simple pencil. Connect the points located at the junction of the rays of the star with its center.
Step 2
Find your embroidery thread. Since the star will be made using the satin stitch technique, it is better to use threads with an ebb to make the embroidery shine. You can opt for regular floss or opt for Splendor special silk or Mandarin Floss with glitter bamboo.
Step 3
Insert the fabric on which the star will be embroidered into the hoop, and tighten the edges of the fabric. Create auxiliary stitches to create a "bulge" in the embroidered design. Make sure that they are directed from the center to the edges of the rays parallel to the bisector of each corner.
Step 4
Start satin stitching. Remember to run the stitches tight enough so that the fabric does not show through, but does not overlap to keep the pattern straight. Each stitch should be perpendicular to the access seam or bisector if no seam has been sewn. Begin sewing from the end of each beam and guide the thread to the center of the star. In total, you need to embroider five parts, they all converge in the middle.
Step 5
Pour the outline of the star with a needle back stitch or a stem stitch. This will hide small imperfections around the edge of the embroidery.
Step 6
Make it harder for yourself and break the star into 10 elements. To do this, first draw lines from the points where the rays connect to the center. And then draw the bisectors of each ray angle, they will intersect in the middle. Sew each section separately, watch the direction of the stitches, they should be symmetrical about the bisectors. In addition, to create volume, you can use two shades of threads that differ by half a tone. Sew the parts of each ray to the right of the bisector with lighter threads and to the left with darker threads.
