Making a cylinder yourself is not an easy task that requires precision, patience, and good materials. Most often, visual material in the form of geometric shapes is used by artists to paint still lifes. But sometimes models of volumetric figures are also used in applied art and design.
It is necessary
- - 2 sheets of thick paper;
- - PVA glue;
- - brush;
- - compasses;
- - ruler;
- - scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a piece of paper and use a ruler to measure a rectangle on it. Its width and length should be equal to the body of the future model.
Step 2
Cut out the rectangle as neatly as possible. It should be remembered that the blanks for the cylinder are cut without an allowance, and the gluing will be done end-to-end.
Step 3
Twist a rectangle in the shape of a body and apply PVA glue along the edge. Bring the edges of the cylinder together and squeeze tightly with your fingers. Do not let go of the workpiece for a while so that the glue has time to dry. It is important to make the glue edge as flat as possible in order to correctly measure the base diameter.
Step 4
Take a compass and use it to measure the widest distance at the base of the case. After that, attach the compass to the ruler and remember the number of cm in girth. Divide this value by half and set the resulting size on the compass.
Step 5
Make two identical circles on the second sheet of paper with a compass. Cut them carefully without any allowances.
Step 6
Take the cylinder body and attach the first circle to it. Make sure again that the parts of the shape do not have gaps when they touch. Place the circle on a horizontal surface and connect it tightly to the body. Coat the place where the body and the circle are glued from the inside with glue. It is important to remember that during gluing the body must be firmly attached to the circle.
Step 7
Cut out small rectangles in any number and glue them to the inside of the cone on the side where you want to glue the last base. The whole difficulty lies in the fact that we cannot attach the second base following the example of the first, since the wrong side of the cone is already closed. Therefore, we need supports that will hold the base during gluing. Once the supports are dry, place the remaining circle on them and carefully glue the product on top. Wait until it is completely dry.
