Instructions

Step 1

Match the strings to your guitar. Guitar strings are made from different materials and come in different lengths. Since different guitars have different sizes, the tension of the same strings on two guitars can be different. Before purchasing strings, consult a professional to see if these strings will actually work for your guitar and will sound the way you would like them to.

Step 2

First, remove the old strings from the guitar. Do not take them off one by one, gradually loosen everything at once. Shooting one at a time will put the wrong weight on the bar. After removing the old strings, dust off the neck and deck.

Step 3

Open the package with new strings. Each string is usually packed in a separate envelope, on which the size is indicated, which means the place of the string on the fretboard. Take out the first string, thread it into the stand at the bottom of the deck. Usually at the end of each string there is an attachment - a small metal cylinder. But it is still better to additionally secure the string. To do this, you can simply tie a knot.

Step 4

Thread the string through the tuning machine and twist. Stretch to the sound you want. To keep the string tighter, wind the string around the tuning peg several times.

Step 5

Secure the rest of the strings in the same way. It is best if you twist the first (thinnest) string on the nearest tuning peg, the second on the next, etc. But then fix the bass strings in a mirror-like way.
