If all parents have photos of babies, then a hand-drawn portrait of a child can become a memorable family thing that will be kept in the house for many years, due to its uniqueness and artistic value. You can try drawing a baby yourself using watercolors.
It is necessary
- - watercolor paper,
- - watercolor paints,
- - the pencils,
- - eraser,
- - brush.
Instructions
Step 1
At first, the drawing technique may seem difficult to you, but with practice comes the ability to draw, which means, practice as much and often as possible. Starting to draw, be confident in your abilities - make the lines even and clear, and if necessary, feel free to correct mistakes. Prepare watercolor paper, watercolors, crayons, an eraser, and a brush.
Step 2
Try to draw a baby from a photograph or from life - with a simple pencil sketch out the main outlines of the baby, forming the composition and silhouette of the drawing. Do not press too hard with a pencil on the paper so that the sketch lines do not subsequently show through the paint.
Step 3
Now brush a small amount of light flesh-colored watercolor and sketch out the main features of the baby's face, and then outline the areas of shadow and light, and determine what color the baby's clothes will be. Densify the eyeshadow by applying a thicker coat of paint.
Step 4
Paint the baby's face, starting with the lightest shades, and then working through the shaded areas, creating volume. Do not darken some parts of the drawing too much - the watercolor should remain transparent even in the shadow areas.
Step 5
Compare the resulting image of the face with the photograph you are using as a nature. Major tone transitions should be consistent with the original. Detail the baby's facial expressions by adding a little skin tone in the shaded areas, and then start working on the background shade. Make the background transparent and light to emphasize the light atmosphere of your drawing.
Step 6
Densify the shadows on the baby's face and hands again. Apply some dark brown watercolor on your fingers, after drying the previous layers of paint. Now start working on the baby's clothes - draw socks on his legs, apply stripes on them, and then separate the silhouette of the baby's clothes from the background and draw it.
Step 7
Detail the garment by marking light and dark spots in the folds of the fabric for volume. Apply a light blush to the baby's cheeks. Modify the shadows and background and the drawing will be ready.
