Drawers from a desk or chest of drawers are an excellent material for alterations of varying complexity. Check out just three simple ideas for converting old unnecessary drawers into comfortable home furnishings.
Simple shelf from a desk drawer
A desk drawer or nightstands can be turned into a simple shelf very easily - just attach the hinges to hang the drawer from the back and that's it. It is also worth sticking a piece of colored paper or wallpaper on the bottom to keep the shelf looking neat. But removing the pen is not at all necessary, unless, of course, it is beautiful!
If the box is in poor condition, for example, the paint has peeled off, it will have to be repainted or pasted over with self-adhesive film.
Multifunctional bathroom shelf from chest of drawers
A larger drawer (from a chest of drawers or a large cabinet, walls) can be converted into a convenient open cabinet for the bathroom. This job is a little more difficult than with a small shelf (see example above). The large box will have to be divided by pieces of thick plywood (they will be additional shelves) into two or three parts. After installing the inner shelves, paint the entire structure with moisture-resistant paint, and decorate the back of the new cabinet with self-adhesive film or washable wallpaper.
Please note: it is worth screwing two metal loops into the bottom of the box, into which you can insert a wooden stick (ready-made sticks of different lengths are sold in construction stores). This additional design allows you to conveniently hang your bath towel.
Storage boxes under the bed
These drawers are very convenient for storing things under a bed or other furniture with legs. Clothes, shoes, children's toys, an archive of documents, everything can fit in them and can be conveniently placed under a bed or a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk.
There is also virtually no need for rework to make such a roll-out drawer - just buy small furniture wheels at the hardware store and screw them onto each drawer. If desired, the boxes can be repainted, the handles can be changed on them.
