The recorder, popular in the pre-Bach era, was supplanted by the transverse orchestral flute. The surge of interest in the recorder in the 20th century led to the fact that today there are thousands of ensembles and orchestras around the world; both classical and modern music are performed on it. Unfortunately, there is no professional school for playing the recorder in Russia, but you can try to learn how to play on your own.
It is necessary
- - recorder (preferably soprano);
- - self-instruction manual;
- - knowledge of elementary music theory and solfeggio.
Instructions
Step 1
Find a teacher. There are no music schools in Russia where the recorder is taught as an independent instrument (with rare exceptions). It is studied as a preparatory instrument in the Children's Art School, but in the second or third year, teachers transfer children to the clarinet, orchestral flute or saxophone. If you are not suitable for a music school by age, it is most reasonable to find a recorder tutor. Lessons with a teacher can be temporary in nature: in a couple of months of regular lessons, you will be quite tolerable playing simple melodies.
Step 2
Look for sound. Start playing with middle notes: G-la-si. Then develop the low and high sounds. Check the accuracy of the sound taking with a reference (for example, with a synthesizer). Do not forget the movement of the tongue: you must, as it were, say "tu-tu-tu" (other teachers ask for "du-du-du"). This will separate the sounds from each other. If you are doing it yourself, look for tips and instructions in the self-study guide and on thematic sites.
Step 3
Take your breath. The recorder sometimes helps to get rid of respiratory diseases, because the game is associated with even breathing. The specificity of playing this instrument is natural exhalation. It should not be forced or weakened: a dense, uniform air jet will provide a beautiful sound. When you play any piece, you should place commas in the notes where it is logical to take breath.
Step 4
Start with simple melodies. The repertoire for recorder is varied. If you play without a band, take any melodies that do not exceed a range of two octaves. On the websites you can search for notes specifically for the recorder. Music with friends, try to improvise. The recorder is good for its compactness and mobility: take it to the forest and to the village to see your grandmother. Match familiar tunes by ear.
