Orenburg shawls are of three types: a simple shawl, a cobweb and a stole. A simple shawl is knitted from thick gray or white fluff - this is an everyday shawl. The spider web is knitted from thin fluff and silk. Its pattern is complex, and the shawl's tenderness and subtlety are such that the finished product goes into a wedding ring. The stole is a large downy shawl-cobweb. It is worn on special occasions.
Instructions
Step 1
Knitting of Orenburg downy shawls is not difficult for experienced knitters. If you know how to dial loops, knit front loops, purl loops, make and lower yarns, then you can master the art of knitting Orenburg downy shawls.
Step 2
First of all, buy 200-250 g of finished fine downy thread. Usually it is sold already tensioned on a cotton thread.
Step 3
Carefully read the description of knitting a scarf according to the finished pattern. The scarf is knitted with a border on four sides. Be careful and adhere strictly to the knitting order.
Step 4
Begin knitting with the hem of the lower left corner. The corner of the scarf consists of the right and left parts. Knit both sides at once according to the pattern, knitting a dividing "track" of 2 front loops between them.
Step 5
Having knitted the full pattern of the border, transfer one part of it, the upper left and one loop of the track, onto a knitting pin, knit the rest of the border to the desired length. Then knit the lower right corner of the border and transfer the upper right part of it with one loop of the "track" to the pin.
Step 6
Transfer the loops from one of the pins to the knitting needles and cast on the inner edge of the border the required number of loops for the main fabric of the scarf. Knit the main fabric of the scarf along with the border on the sides to the desired size.
Step 7
Remove the loops of the upper left corner of the border and the cloth of the scarf with a pin. Knit the third corner of the scarf in the same way as the second corner, alternating yarns and knitting the desired loops together.
