Today, it is more and more common to find fashionistas who are warmed by a tacori hat in cold winter weather. Beautiful and fluffy, she was born thanks to Svetlana Takkori. As a designer, Svetlana lives in Italy and works under her own brand, inventing multi-colored knitwear. There is no need to look for her author's creations on sale at all, because it is quite possible to knit a tacori hat on knitting needles.

Takori hat: general information

A tacori hat is knitted from mohair. These threads are made from wool of angora goat, therefore they are also called angora. This is a kind of material, products made from it look delicate and cozy. A hat knitted from angora will keep you warm and comfortable even in the most bitter frost. You can wear such a headdress both with a jacket and with a coat.

The advantage of a takori hat is its appearance, which gives the product a soft yarn. The cap knitted from mohair does not bring discomfort, does not leave streaks on the forehead when worn. Today, the tacori hat is experiencing a peak in popularity. A voluminous and beautiful headdress of this type is suitable for women of any age.

Fashion designers know that fashion trends come back from time to time. Bulky mohair hats were very fashionable 40 years ago. Such hats are popular because of their practicality and very attractive appearance. Warm clothes for children are often knitted from soft mohair.

Making a tacori hat for a needlewoman will not be difficult. To begin with, you need to prepare the material: yarn of the "angora" type, or even better - "kid-mohair" (this very soft fiber is obtained during the first shearing of angora kids).

A few decades ago, hats were knitted exactly to the size of the head, and they were worn with one lapel. The current designers have made some changes to the model of the headdress. Now the length of the cap is about 45 cm, and there can be two cuffs. The main difference between modern models: before, the loops were simply pulled together when knitting, now they are reduced in a special way.

For work you will need:

  • yarn (thread for a winter hat should be thick);
  • circular knitting needles;
  • scissors;
  • Crochet hook.

How to knit a tacori hat

Operating procedure:

  • take a measurement from the head;
  • perform an elastic band;
  • tie the product itself.

Takori is knitted in a circle with an English elastic band. If you don't knit too often, try to pay attention to the knitting pattern while you work. It is not particularly difficult. The knitting of a simplified English elastic should be double-sided, with an even number of loops. First row: one front, one purl - and so on until the end of the row. To make the first row, you need to knit one front loop, make a yarn over, and remove the next loop as purl. In this way, the entire row is knitted to the very end.

Second row: one front under the loop, one purl - also to the end of the row. When creating the second row, insert the right knitting needle under the stitch on the left knitting needle. Now drop the loop that is hanging from the knitting needle without knitting it. Walk to the end of the row.

Proceed to the third row. Knit two loops of the previous, second row with the front one, complete the yarn over and remove the next loop as purl. Now you need to alternate the second and third rows. The product can also be knitted with a regular 1x1 elastic band. In this case, the pattern will consist of alternating purl and front loops.

The finished takori hat, taken here as an example, is suitable for those with a head circumference of 56-58 cm. The consumption of mohair will be about 80-100 g (this will depend on the density of knitting and the thickness of the threads). For work, you should take knitting needles from No. 4 to No. 6. In this case, a sufficient knitting density is ensured: a sample in the form of an English elastic band measuring 10x10 cm will contain approximately 36 rows in height and 12 loops in width. The sample should be measured in a free state, without stretching or squeezing.

With a head circumference of 56 cm, cast on 61 loops on the needles. The "extra" loop will be needed to close into a circle. After that, you need to knit 140 rows in the form of an English elastic band, so that the takori hat turns out to be in the shape of the head. If you like a hat with a slightly elongated crown, you will have to knit 160 rows.

How to decrease loops

When making a takori hat, there are three main ways to reduce the loops:

  • with a smooth transition;
  • with fitting;
  • broken down into triangles.

The first method involves a smooth and gradual transition from the English gum to the front surface. This solution will look the most elegant. Divide the main canvas conditionally into three separate parts. At each such section, knit two loops together at a pair of key points. Perform the first decrease of the loops behind the edge loop. Make two more at an equal distance from each other. In this way, you need to knit about 30 rows. At the same time, you will not notice transitions in the finished product, since the reduction of the loops will be gradual. As a result of such a decrease, only a thin "pigtail" will appear, which can become an ornament of the product.

Sometimes, with careless work, it happens that the future hat is warped due to the "pigtail". The skew may be due to the decrease in the loops. In this case, it is necessary to move the yarn slightly towards the pattern. Then the already knitted loops will merge with the place where they were subtracted, there will be no distortions.

There is also a way to reduce with an adjustment. For him, you will need to remove four loops in every third row. It is also necessary to knit two loops together in four parts of the canvas. When using such a scheme, you will need to complete about 30 rows, observing the correct pattern when decreasing the loops. There should be no distortions in it. All the loops made earlier must be connected in order to end up with a beautiful pattern.

There is another practical and effective way to reduce loops. Its difference is that four neat triangles are formed, connected at the top of the cap. In this case, it will be necessary to conditionally divide the canvas into four equal parts. It is necessary to decrease the loops at the beginning and at the end of each of the blocks, knitting together the front, and then the purl and front loops in every fourth row. Pay close attention to the slope of the hinges, otherwise you will have to redo all the work.

How to form an elongated crown of a hat

To give the product an elongated shape, knit the next four rows of the product with a 1x1 elastic band so that the pattern becomes harmonious. In this case, 60 loops should remain on the needles. But the canvas will eventually become narrower, since the knitting will be compact.

Now go to the front surface. In the next row, knit one knit stitch, and then knit two knit stitches together. In this way, it is necessary to knit a row to its last loop. Knit the final and first stitches together. After decreasing, 30 loops will remain on the needles. Now you need to knit three rows.

Finally, cut back by knitting every two knit stitches together to the end of the row. Pull the remaining loops (there should be 15 of them) tightly with a thread. Gently pull the thread to the wrong side, lock it in place and hide it.

Finishing touches

The finished takori hat should be washed in lukewarm water. When washing, you must use a special detergent for knitwear. Regular shampoo will also work. You can dry the hat only in a horizontal position. Otherwise, the product may well stretch out and change its beautiful shape. When drying, place a clean, dry terry towel under the hat. When the product is completely dry, make a double lapel on the hat. The tacori hat is ready to use.

Takori hats are usually knitted from brightly colored yarn. Stylists believe that this headdress is good as an addition to a laconic urban look. Outerwear (coat or jacket) with a smooth texture is suitable for such a hat. In this case, the headdress will immediately attract attention.
