A mod is an add-on that is written by third-party developers for a specific game. The Call Of Duty 4 game has gained great popularity and therefore a large number of modifications have been released for it that change the maps, weapons and skins of the players. Different shooter mods are installed in different ways.

Instructions
Step 1
Download the mods you want from COD4 websites or gaming forums. If the downloaded files are in archive format, then you need to unpack them using the WinRAR utility or any other archiver.
Step 2
Place the unpacked files in the game folder (C: / Program Files / Activision / Call of Duty 4 / Modern Warfare / Mods). Go to the server where this mod is installed. All parameters will start automatically.
Step 3
If you want to create your own server and play on it, then start the game and go to the "Multiplayer" section and click on the "Mods" item. Select the installed modification and click "OK". All changes will be made automatically and you can start playing.
Step 4
If you are installing a skin, you will have to copy the files to another folder. If your game version is lower than 1.4, then copy the modification of the IWD type to the main directory of the game (C: / Program Files / Activision / Call of Duty 4 / main). If the shooter is updated to 1.7, then place all files in the mods folder (Mods / ModWarfare).
Step 5
Go to the network game and select the character for which your skin was set. Go to the server and you will see the updated camouflage.
Step 6
To install new maps for Call Of Duty 4, unpack all.ff files into the game / usermaps / mp_aim folder (if there is no such directory, create it). Iwd files are moved to the mod folder. If the mod is not installed on your version of the game, then rename all IWDs by adding the iw_ prefix to the beginning of the file (for example, iw_mp_aim.iwd) and copy everything to the main directory.
Step 7
To start the map, go to the network game and select the used mod. In the console, type:
map name of_installed_map
Hit Enter. If the installation went well, the game will load successfully.
