It is necessary

  • - straw;
  • - sickle;
  • - knife or scissors;
  • - colored shreds;
  • - satin ribbon;
  • - thread or wire;
  • - paints;
  • - scissors;
  • - brush.

Instructions

Step 1

The straw can be harvested in the field after harvest and during the ripening of cereals. This is best done in dry and sunny weather, as the material should not be wet. Rye straws are most suitable for work, as they have long stems.

Step 2

Cut off the stems with a sickle and tie them into bunches. Hang them in a dark but well-ventilated place, under a shelter or in a closet, for 2-3 weeks.

Step 3

Peel the stems, remove the leaves, cut the knots with a knife. Sort the straw according to the length and thickness of the straws, fold into bunches and wrap in cotton cloth. In this form, the material can be stored for quite a long time.

Step 4

Soak the material in warm water for 20 minutes before making a toy from straws. Suitable stems should be soft, resilient and pliable.

Step 5

The easiest way is to make a doll out of straw. Make the skeleton of the toy. Take a bunch of 20-25 straws. Tie it tightly at a distance of 2 cm from the top with threads or wire.

Step 6

Wrap the short piece with a white rag. Divide the bottom into 2 equal beams and turn them up. Spread the straws evenly around the fabric wrapped part and tie with threads. Thus, you will get a round and three-dimensional part for the head.

Step 7

Bundle straws that are shorter and shorter. Divide the straw on the doll's frame into 2 equal parts and insert the resulting part between them. Under it, tie the doll's body with threads. Cut a short bundle exactly on both sides and tie, stepping back from the edge 0.5-1 cm. This way you get the doll's hands and palms.

Step 8

Divide the rest of the frame into 2 equal parts. Tie them in two places (in the middle for the knees and stepping back 1 cm from the edge, this will make the feet). Trim the straws.

Step 9

Now you can start decorating the doll. Cut a rectangle out of the patch, fold it in half and make a hole for the neckline. Put the resulting dress on the doll. Tie up with a nice satin ribbon.

Step 10

Cut a triangle out of another piece. Tie it over the doll's head to make a handkerchief.
