A home workshop is an excellent convenient solution for those who cannot imagine their life without craftsmanship and handicraft. A true professional in his field dreams of his own home workshop, where he could retire and occupy himself with his favorite work without prying eyes and unnecessary noise. For this, of course, it is best to have a separate room not far from your own home.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose an area in the yard that can be used as a workshop. For this, the best place is such that it will not constantly irritate the eyes of close people and neighbors. As a rule, a home workshop is built behind the house itself or as an extension to it.

Step 2

Mark your chosen construction site with small pegs and a line. Prepare the ground in the marked area for laying the foundation. To do this, you need to dig a small pit about 70-80 cm deep.

Step 3

Mix construction concrete with broken bricks and rubble. Mix the specified materials thoroughly. Pour the resulting mixture into your pit and wait until it dries completely. This may take several days. Make sure the foundation is solid. It should be checked when the color of the concrete turns light gray from the dark, almost black, which was poured.

Step 4

Proceed with installing a multi-layer floor. The first layer is sand, about 10 cm thick, strongly compacted. The second layer is roofing felt (special flooring made of wooden boards) or concrete. At the same time, remember that the concrete floor is colder than the plank floor, but the most versatile and durable.

Step 5

Build workshop walls around your floor. Do not forget about door and window openings. Walls can be made of bricks or blocks. To do this, install additional supporting pillars on all corners and several intermediate ones on the inside of the walls. Be aware that in the future, in a ready-made workshop, such pillars can always be used as a basis for attaching wall racks, which, for example, can be used to store tools.

Step 6

Proceed to the construction of the roof after the walls are ready. To do this, fix the required number of wooden beams on the ceiling and lay slate, shingles or other roofing material on them.

Step 7

Sheathe the inside of the roof and walls with wooden planks, if necessary. Install doors and windows, install electricity, bring in the necessary equipment and tools and you can get to work, your own home workshop is ready.
