Fishing is a wonderful, exciting hobby. Today it attracts more and more people. Beginner anglers have many questions. And one of them is what kind of fish is best to catch.
Usually, the question of which fish is better to catch is caused either by a lack of knowledge about a particular water body, or by the desire to concentrate on catching a certain (usually large) fish species in order to increase the catch. In any case, the choice is limited by what kind of fish in general lives or can live in the reservoir.
Prioritizing fishing is worth considering the current circumstances. Often many different species of fish live in one reservoir, but the possibility of hunting them is determined by the time of year, day, weather, the presence of certain tackle, bait, the ability to use a boat.
In many cases, deciding which fish to fish boils down to answering the question of whether the fish will be predominantly predatory. So, if there is a live bait and a float rod or a spinning rod with a spoon, you can start hunting for perch or even pike. With the help of a float rod, you can fish the vicinity of the coastline, giving preference to areas bordering on accumulations of algae. Spinning reels should be done near flooded snags and tree trunks.
On old ponds and lakes, you should give preference to fishing for large crucian carp and carp. Small specimens can also be caught on a float rod near the shore. It is better to catch large individuals on a "zakidushka" equipped with a feeder and several hooks.
Small rivers with medium and fast currents are usually home to a large number of small fish species. Therefore, once in such a body of water, it is better to fish without giving preference to specific prey. It is worth using mainly walking animals bait (earthworm, maggot) and small hooks.
In large deep rivers it is better to hunt for large bream, catfish, pike perch. Usually, for successful fishing here you need a boat and special tackle (bottom rods of a special design, bridges, heavy baits).
