Any children's holiday will become brighter if we use such an element as a mask in the costume. Translated from Latin, the word "mask" means "mask". Of course, you can buy a modern mask, but do not forget that the child will be happy to take part in the manufacture of the mask.
It is necessary
Paper, scissors, glue, plasticine or balloon, decoration material
Instructions
Step 1
Making a baby mask is not difficult. Start with simple masks that your child can do too. The simplest version of a children's mask is a half mask, which is made of cardboard or other thick, colored paper and covers only the upper part of the face. On paper, draw the shape of the glasses to fit your child and cut out. You also need to cut holes for the eyes. It is necessary to thread an elastic band into the holes made along the edges. The finished half mask can be covered with glue and sprinkled with sparkles or finely chopped Christmas tinsel.
Step 2
A more complex option for making a papier-mâché children's mask. Such a mask will completely cover the child's face. For the frame of the base of the future mask, an elastic material is needed - plasticine. It's even easier to use an inflated balloon.
Step 3
Prepare the required mass of cut paper (you can use newspapers), mix it with glue (PVA, wallpaper). Make a volumetric shape from plasticine, which must be lubricated with petroleum jelly. Determine the places of the slits for the eyes, if necessary - for the nose, mouth. Glue these areas of the mask with thicker paper.
Step 4
Now apply the prepared paper pulp to the base of the mask. Press each layer tightly against the workpiece so that there are no wrinkles. It is necessary to apply 4-5 layers. Use heavier paper for the first layer. Better yet, alternate - a layer of thick paper, a layer of thin paper. Make the top layer of white paper so that it is convenient to paint the mask. Let your product dry well. Separate the dried mask from the base. Trim the edges of the mask to the desired size and cut the laces along the edges.
Step 5
You can paint the finished children's papier-mâché mask with paints, gouache, fixing the paint with hairspray.
Further, it all depends on your imagination. Additional elements to the mask (ears, mustache, cap) will allow you to create images of funny characters and animals. After all, a child's mask is usually always some favorite fairy-tale image of a child.
