For many years Counter-Strike has held the palm in popularity among all online shooters. This is largely due to convenient game content editors that allow users to develop hundreds of different maps every day for new online battles. Created locations are distributed over the Internet almost automatically.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to a new server for yourself. As soon as the game client (the version of CS you have installed) encounters new content (the new map on which the game is currently being played), it will automatically start downloading it. The download process can often be delayed - it all depends on the speed of your Internet. The moment you "enter" the server, the map will be saved on your hard disk, and you can access it at any time from the corresponding menu.
Step 2
If you want to install a specific map yourself, download it from any fan site. The level for Counter-Strike consists of a combination of sprites, models, their location and other nuances: depending on how complex (in terms of structure) the map you want to install, the previously downloaded archive will contain a number of files of various formats. They will have to be arranged in the folders provided for this.
Step 3
Open the root directory of the game. Inside, change to the cstrike directory.
Step 4
Depending on the format of the file, place it in the correct directory. In cstrikemaps submit.txt,.bsp,.nav,.res. In Models -.mdl; in Sprites -.spr; in GfxEnv -.tga; Leave the.wad directly in cstrike and the.wav in Soundambience. If the downloaded archive contains all the necessary folders, then just copy them into cstrike and select the option "replace files if names match" (it shouldn't happen anyway).
Step 5
In order for the card to be automatically selected on your server, it will need to be marked. To do this, copy the name of the.bsp file, open the file /cstrike/mapcycle.txt and paste it in the last line.
Step 6
If the card does not appear in the general list in the game client, then you will have to call it manually. To do this, in the main menu, you will have to start the console and enter changelevel # there, where instead of # is the name of the.bsp file, as in the previous paragraph.
