Adding a caption to pictures is not a particularly difficult action that can be performed using any graphic editor that can work with text. You can superimpose the caption on the photo itself or on the frame that surrounds the photo.
It is necessary
- - graphic editor Photoshop;
- - photos.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the pictures you want to add captions to in Photoshop. If you are not going to do anything with the pictures except overlaying text on them, turn on the Horizontal Type Tool, click on the area of the photo, from which the signature will begin, and enter the text from the keyboard.
Step 2
With a successful combination of circumstances, the main color in which the font of the inscription will be painted will differ from the colors that make up the picture. If this did not happen, select the created signature and adjust the font parameters. To do this, use the Character option from the Window menu to open the font palette. In it, you can change the color of the signature by clicking on the color swatch and choosing the desired shade from the palette that opens.
Step 3
To change the font size, use the Font size drop-down list located in the upper left corner of the palette. You can select one of the values in the list, enter the font size in pixels from the keyboard, or move the cursor over the icon to the left of the list. After the cursor turns into a double arrow, hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor left or right.
Step 4
The caption overlaid on the image will look like a detail of the graphic design of the image if you add a stroke to the image in the same color as the letters. To do this, go to the layer with the photo and apply the Layer from Background option in the New group of the Layer menu.
Step 5
To add a stroke, use the Stroke option in the Layer Style group of the Layer menu. In order not to make a mistake with the stroke color, click on the color swatch in the opened style settings and move the cursor pointer over the photo, as a result of which it will take the form of an eyedropper. With this tool click on the label. The stroke you create will be colored the same color as the font.
Step 6
If the outline does not appear on the photo, select Inside from the Position list. By default, stroke size is three pixels and may not be visible in large images. Increase the thickness of the line by adjusting this parameter using the slider at the top of the window.
Step 7
The signature can be applied not only to the photo itself. If you do not want to cover the details of the picture with text, create a simple frame around the picture by increasing the size of the canvas. To do this, use the Canvas Size option on the Image menu. After making sure that the Relative checkbox is checked, enter the amount by which you are going to increase the width and height of the canvas.
Step 8
If the Layer from Background option has already been applied to the image, the canvas fragments added to the image will be transparent. To paint these areas in color, use the Solid Color option from the New Fill Layer group of the Layer menu. A palette will open, in which you can select the color of the created fill. Drag the color layer below the image layer. A colored border has now appeared around the photo.
Step 9
Create a caption over the frame or turn on the Move Tool and drag the text overlaid on the photo with this tool.
Step 10
Save pictures with captions as.jpg"
