Counter-Strike is a series of games that never ceases to be very popular among e-sportsmen and ordinary players around the world. If there are significant successes, the player's “nickname” is his pride and the identification mark of a professional. But sometimes, for one reason or another, you want to change your pseudonym. This can be done without leaving the battle.
Instructions
Step 1
To change the player's name in Counter-Strike before the start of the battle, you need to start the game, then go to the multiplayer settings menu and enter a new nickname in the Nickname field in Latin. If you enter your game nickname in Cyrillic, you may have problems logging into the game.
Step 2
In order to change the game nickname right during the battle, you need to call the console (press the "~" button on the keyboard, it also closes the console) and enter the name command. Let's say you want to change your alias to JadeRod. The console command in this case will look like this: name JadeRod. Quotes and punctuation marks are not used in console commands.
Step 3
Some versions of Counter-Strike do not support alias changes via the game console. In this case, you can change the alias in the game config file. To do this, in the folder with the game installed, you need to find the config.cfg file, open it with Notepad, find the line with the word name and enter your preferred alias after it. You need to enter a nickname in Latin without using punctuation marks or special characters. If you installed the English version of the game, and then additionally downloaded the crack, it is recommended to enter the game alias in two configuration files from the cstrike and cstrike russian folders.
Step 4
To change the game nicknames of bots, you need to enter the console and enter the command bot_nick "old nickname" "new nickname". This command will change the name of one of the bots to the one you entered. To change the names of all possible bots in the game, you need to rewrite the corresponding part of the BotProfile.db file in the folder with the game installed. Names still need to be written in Latin only, without punctuation or special characters.
