Drawing cartoon characters requires some skill. But after training, you can draw your favorite character in different poses and situations, and perhaps even come up with your own characters. Try to portray Mario, a popular video game hero who is also Nintendo's mascot.

It is necessary

  • - paper for drawing or sketching;
  • - the pencils;
  • - eraser;
  • - paints or markers.

Instructions

Step 1

Mario is a very recognizable character. His image is formed by a mustache, jumpsuit and a cap. The mustache allows you to better highlight the face, the cap perfectly replaces the hairstyle, and the jumpsuit well emphasizes the movements of the arms and legs. Find a reference picture for your drawing. You must understand the proportions of the character, see him in motion and in static. You can copy the finished image or come up with your own version based on the proposed sample.

Step 2

First, make a pencil sketch. Draw a circle on a piece of paper, mark it with intersecting lines - this is the basis for the face. At the bottom of the circle, draw a horizontal oval that resembles a collar. Place the body under it in the form of an oval not too elongated vertically. Place it at a slight angle.

Step 3

To the left and right of the head, draw two more circles, one higher than the other. Place two more circles at the bottom of the torso. Place one closer to the body, the second a little further. All of these figures should indicate the pose of the character. Mario stands on one leg, bending the other at the knee and raising his hands, clenched into fists.

Step 4

Connect the circles with lines. Draw the legs and arms, along the way outlining the outlines of the jumpsuit. Draw facial features on the head. At the intersection of the marking lines, draw a round nose, above the horizontal line - eyes in the form of semi-ovals. At the bottom of the face, draw a mouth that resembles a crescent moon or apple slice.

Step 5

Shade the eyes, not forgetting to put a highlight in them. Paint over the mouth, marking the inside of the teeth. Above the eyes, draw eyebrows shifted to the bridge of the nose, and a lush white mustache under the nose. On the head, mark a cap with a visor and the letter "M" in the middle. Draw out the outlines of the straps of the jumpsuit, the sole and the welt of the boots.

Step 6

Examine the drawing and erase any extra lines. Trace the outlines with a soft, sharpened pencil. You can leave the drawing in black and white, or paint it with acrylics, felt-tip pens, or gouache.
