To draw a woman with a pencil, you will need knowledge about the structure of the human body and the ability to work in graphic technique. The drawing of the female model should be done with neat smooth lines and using soft shading.

Instructions
Step 1
Choose a posing model and place her on a chair, sofa or armchair. You can draw a woman in a long evening dress or portray her in a cozy home environment, for example, with a book in her hands or a blanket. Consider lighting that makes the model stand out well.
Step 2
Equip your workplace. Choose a suitable angle. Take a large piece of paper and tape it to an easel or other flat surface. Lay out pencils of various softness, an eraser, and several small sheets of paper that you will need for sketching.
Step 3
Study the model carefully. To find a perfect composition, sketch some small pieces of paper. Determine the basic proportions of the figure and draw them on the paper with barely noticeable lines. Add guidelines for the head, torso, arms and legs. In order for the drawing to bear the greatest resemblance to the original, it is important for you to capture the characteristic features of the model and try to convey them on paper.
Step 4
Work on your facial features and hair. First, use thin lines to mark the eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth. Determine the correct proportions. Then draw in all the facial features. Don't forget your hair. If they are styled into a hairstyle, try to convey it on paper, depict loose hair in the form of curls.
Step 5
Carefully draw the neck, shoulders, arms. Map out the clothing and accessories available. If the model is depicted in the interior, it must be rendered schematically.
Step 6
After you have completed the drawing of the woman, start working on the volume. First, take a medium-soft pencil and shade in the shadows. With a hard pencil, draw parts of the face, some curls, mark the folds on the clothes. The strokes should highlight the shape and convey the texture. Do not try to shade the whole drawing, you can leave light places without working out with a pencil. At the end of the work, take a dark pencil and select some parts, such as the eyes, a couple of curls, folds in the clothes. Your work will take on a finished look.
