Audacity program

Instructions

Step 1

To change the tempo of the music, use the free program “Audacity”.

To download the program, go to "audacity.sourceforge.net." At the top of the page, select download. On the page that appears, two versions of the program will be presented. On the left is the latest stable release, and it's best to use it. The most recent version is located on the right, but it is under testing, so it may contain unknown bugs. Select the version that matches your operating system. The page that opens contains download options (installer or program packed into an archive), as well as system requirements for various operating systems. It is recommended to download the version with automatic installation. Install or unzip the program to your hard drive.

Step 2

Run the program. At the first start, you will be prompted to select the interface language. Then go to the "File" menu, click "Open". Select the desired audio file.

Step 3

Using the mouse, select the required segment of the recording or all using the CTRL + A keyboard shortcut. The tempo can be changed with or without changing the tone. Click on "Effects". In the menu that appears, select the line "Change the pace". A window will appear in which you will need to configure the change properties. Using the slider, you can quickly set the percentage of acceleration / deceleration. Also in this window you can enter the current tempo (beats per minute) and the result, or the time in seconds that the track should last. When adjusting the tempo, it is very helpful to listen to what happens. To do this, there is a special button "Listen", which plays a few seconds of the processed recording. After the done manipulations, click "OK".

Step 4

To save the resulting record, click "File-> Save".
