In order to depict a bison, it is necessary to imagine what an ordinary bull looks like, and to reflect in the drawing the features of the structure of the body and head of this large mammal.
Instructions
Step 1
Begin your drawing by constructing construction parts. Draw an ovoid shape, its axis of symmetry should be horizontal. This auxiliary element corresponds to the body of a bison. Take into account the proportions of the bull's body in the drawing - the widest part of the figure, which will be the chest of the animal, is approximately 2/3 of the figure's length. In addition, the figure should be elongated and more tapered than the egg.
Step 2
Build an auxiliary figure corresponding to the bison's face, it also has the shape of an egg, its sharp end is the nose. Place this detail at a short distance from the body, the head of the bison in a calm state is located below the highest point on the nape.
Step 3
Connect both elements with lines. Please note that the scruff of the bison is very massive, so the line going from the back of the head to the back has a concave shape.
Step 4
Draw the head. Cut off the sharp tip, select the area of the nose, draw nostrils on it. In the central part of the head, draw oval eyes, they are set on the sides of the muzzle, not in front. Small horns bent upwards grow approximately on the same line with the nostrils and the eye. The crown of the bison is covered with long hair that hangs forward and hides the ears. In addition, the animal has a beard, the hair on the chin is directed forward.
Step 5
Reflect the features of the structure of the body of the bison. Select the area on the back and nape that is covered in thick fur. On the croup and belly of the bull, the hair is shorter and smoother, it adheres closely to the surface of the body. Draw a tail, it is quite long, there is a tassel with long hair at the end. If you are drawing a male, draw the penis, it looks just like a normal bull.
Step 6
Draw the limbs of the bison. Their length is about half the body. The front legs look thicker due to the long hair, the hind legs are covered with a shorter hair. Articulations are clearly visible on the bison's legs. Each limb ends with a hoof, do not forget about the reduced toe turned back.
Step 7
Start coloring the picture. Note that the bison's coat has a warm, slightly reddish tint. Use a dark brown color for the eyes, highlight the horns at the base with light ones and the tips with gray-black.
