Weaving a funny frog from beads is not so difficult, it can be made using the parallel weaving method, which is ideal for beginners. If you already have experience in making beaded figurines, then try making a volumetric frog toy.
Flat frog
It is very easy to weave flat figures from beads. They are made using the parallel weaving method. To make a frog using this technique, you will need:
round green beads;
- 2 black beads;
- thin wire;
- nippers or scissors.
Cut a piece of wire about 1 meter long. String 3 green beads on it, place them in the middle of the cord. Pull the left end of the wire through the second and first beads in the row. In the next row, string 5 beads on the left side of the wire and pull the right end of the cord through them. Pull on the edges to secure the wire properly. In the third row, first cast on 1 black bead, then 5 green beads and again 1 black bead. So the frog will have eyes.
A beaded frog can be not only green, make it multi-colored or combine material of different shades.
Starting from the next row, start weaving the torso also with parallel weaving. Cast on 5 green beads, in the next row - 7. Next, increase the number of beads in a row by 2.
In the sixth row from the beginning of weaving, make the frog's front legs. To do this, at the beginning of the row, string 8 beads on the wire. Bend the wire towards you. Select 3 beads and pull the cord through the second and third. Bend the wire again and make a finger in the same way. In total, the frog should have 4 fingers. After making the last one, pull the wire through the 7 beads of the foot, starting with the second. Then weave a row of the torso and make the second leg in the same way as the first one.
In the next row, string 9 green beads. Then cast on 7 beads and start braiding the hind legs as described above. Finish braiding, twist the wire and cut carefully. Hide the tips.
Bulky frog
Cut a piece of wire 1 meter long and string 7 green beads on it. Pull one end of the string through the 4 beads and tighten. This will give 2 tiers of the first row. The top should have 3 beads and the bottom 4.
If you use large beads or small beads, you will get a more voluminous work.
In the next row, cast on 5 beads, pass the other end of the wire through them and tighten. Place this row above the top tier. Then, in the same way, cast on 5 beads, pass the other end of the wire through them and tighten carefully. Place this row above the lower tier.
In the third row, make the eyes of the frog. Cast on 1 black bead, then 4 green and 1 black again, pull a wire through them and tighten. For the bottom tier of this row, string 4 beads. In the fourth and fifth rows, weave in the same way, but increasing the number of beads in each row by one.
In the sixth row, weave the legs of the frog, as described above, and continue the volumetric weaving of the body. In the 7th and 8th rows. Cast on 9 beads for each tier. And in the 9th and 10th, reduce the number of beads in a row by 1, while in row 11, weave the hind legs of the frog.
In the 12th row, make only the upper tier of the product. String 6 beads and pass the wire through the beads of the previous row. Secure the wire by making several tight turns, cut and hide in the weaving.
