Instructions
Step 1
Make a butterfly pattern.
Step 2
Transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut out 2 large pieces (for the body) and 4 small pieces (for the wings). Make an allowance for the wings 0.5 cm (along the inner line). Cut out of padding polyester: 2 large parts and 2 small ones.
Step 3
Sew a wing made of padding polyester with guiding seams along the edges to the wing made of fabric, folding the details inside out, and sew them together on the inside. Make several cuts along the curve of the wings to avoid bulging. Turn out and sew.
Step 4
Glue 2 base parts with glue padding polyester. If the synthetic winterizer is thick, then you can make one layer. Fold the parts inside out. Prepare a braid for the antennae, cutting it into 2 parts, pin and lay two lines. After making small cuts at the base of the wings, turn the butterfly inside out.
Step 5
Draw the decorative stitch pattern (outer side) on the variegated fabric and sew according to the pattern.
Step 6
Cut out the upper applique with 0.5 cm allowances and sew by hand.
Make a circle for the lower appliqué with a diameter of 2 times the planned circle. Then cut out a circle-template from paper to fit the dimensions, pin it to the part, drawing its outlines. Sew along the drawn borders.
Gather the remaining ends of the fabric with a thread and gather in a bun, leaving a long end of the thread with which to sew a button in the center of the flower circle.
Step 7
Decorate the wing pattern with buttons and coarse stitches.
Step 8
Connect all parts with a bias tape, securing it with sewing pins to the outer edge of the wings, while bending the ends of the tape to the inside. Create a guiding stitch. Unscrew the tape and sew with large stitches. As a result, the stitch width of the back side of the tape should be 1-2 mm larger than the front stitch.
