Children are great models for photographs because they convey lively, vivid emotions. But at the same time, it is very difficult to photograph them: children move quickly, it is difficult to persuade them to stand still, they may be embarrassed or make faces in front of the photographer. There are some tips you can follow to help you take more good photos.
It is necessary
- - camera;
- - Adobe Photoshop.
Instructions
Step 1
Get down to the kids level. Adults often forget that they are twice the height of children and take pictures from above. From this, the proportions of the figure and face are distorted, and instead of smiles, only the backs of the heads are visible in the photo. For a good photo, kneel or sit on the floor.
Step 2
Keep your camera ready. Children move quickly and impulsively, one emotion replaces another, only they sat quietly, and a second later they were running somewhere in a race. If you have to take the time to turn on the camera and open the lens, you will never catch the most vivid emotions.
Step 3
Use a digital camera. This technology is now available to many, and it greatly simplifies shooting. When photographing children, you will get a lot of blurry shots, or those in which the face is covered with a hand, eyes are half-open, etc. With a conventional camera, you would have to print too many photos to see the flaws in them, while digital shots you can preview everything on a computer in advance.
Step 4
Take more pictures. Expect there will be a lot of scrap among the photos, so it is important to take a large number of shots. After a while, children will get used to the camera in your hands and will behave naturally.
Step 5
Come closer. When filming a child, we usually try to capture his emotions, his interaction with people and objects, and not at all the beautiful landscape around. So try to get close and use a zoom or telephoto lens. If the situation does not allow this, then when processing the photo you need to crop it.
Step 6
Disable flash. The flash is essential when shooting in studio or in low light conditions. In all other cases, it is better to turn it off: this way you will get rid of harsh shadows behind the child's back and red eyes, and the colors will become more natural. Plus, when you shoot without the flash, kids quickly stop paying attention to you.
