A feature of the Night Beauty flower is that its buds bloom only in the dark. Outwardly, the flowers of this culture are very similar to ordinary bindweed. The Night Beauty plant is appreciated by many lovers of garden decorative perennials primarily for its strong spicy smell. In order for this flower to develop well and bloom profusely, of course, it should be properly looked after.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose for the Night Beauty or, as this decorative culture is also called, Mirabilis, a fairly spacious area. This flower is considered quite aggressive and, under favorable conditions, can independently occupy large areas. When choosing a place, consider the tastes of your family members. After all, not all people tolerate strong smells, even pleasant ones.

Step 2

Plant the seeds of the Night Belle in the soil only after it has warmed up. Usually this plant is planted in flower beds at the very end of spring. If the soil in the garden is acidic, be sure to neutralize it with wood ash. Otherwise, Mirabilis will not grow and bloom well.

Step 3

When planting, place the seeds of the Night Belle approximately 25-30 cm apart from each other. It is advisable to pre-soak the planting material for 6-7 hours in a damp cloth. In this case, they will germinate much faster. Embed seeds in the ground to a depth of no more than 2 cm.

Step 4

Feed the grown plants with complex mineral fertilizers. It is to such formulations that the Night Beauty responds best of all. Mirabilis should be fed 3 times per season. Apply fertilizer to the flower bed two to three weeks after planting, at the beginning of flowering and after it.

Step 5

Water the Night Belle plant sparingly. It is undesirable to moisten the soil in the garden with Mirabilis more than once every three days. Watering is carried out only after the top layer of the earth dries out on the flower bed. It is best to moisten the soil in the bed with Night Beauty in the evening.

Step 6

If rust and mottling appear on the leaves and flowers, use a fungicide according to the instructions on the package. The Night Beauty plant is relatively resistant to diseases. However, it can sometimes become infected with pathogenic microorganisms or fungi. To prevent this from happening, try not to overflow Mirabilis and thin out its plantings in time (in the southern regions).

Step 7

Collect Night Belle Seeds only after they turn black. Store them in a cool, warm place. Mirabilis belongs, the care of which, despite its unpretentiousness, should be carried out according to all the rules, to perennial decorative crops. However, this plant, unfortunately, does not tolerate the harsh Russian winters at all. Therefore, next year, in the Central zone of the Russian Federation, in the Urals and in Siberia, it will most likely have to be planted again.
