Instructions
Step 1
In order to breed earthworms, you need to collect the first batch. Worms can be found in old dung heaps, or where last year's foliage is left. Also, worms can meet you during spring excavation. The caught worms must be carefully transferred to a bucket with moistened earth, and then transferred to the place where the wormhole is planned.
Step 2
Another way to get worms is by baiting. For example, in a summer cottage, in a raspberry grove (under the branches there is always damp earth), you need to dig a shallow ditch, put wet rotten compost in it and cover it with paper or burlap. From above you need to cover the ditch with a wide board. After 1-1, 5 weeks, earthworms will appear in the compost, which are also transferred to the worm house. The optimal number of worms for breeding is about 500-1000 individuals per 1 sq. cultivator meter.
Step 3
The wormhole is best placed in an area where there is shade: under trees, in a shed, or in a basement. For him, 2 square meters will be enough. meters. The wormhole can be formed either in the ground or in an old tub or in a large wooden box. For this, a layer of well-moistened compost 40-50 cm is placed, like a loose bed. After that, cover the compost with burlap or straw, and leave it for a week to remove the ammonia and the fertilizer residues to dissolve.
Step 4
During this time, you can collect worms for divorce. After a week, you can repopulate the worms as follows. On each square meter of the worm pit, a recess is made in the center where the worms need to be placed. It remains to level the ground and cover the top layer with burlap or straw. The next day, the wormhole needs to be moistened. In the future, the wormhole is watered in the same way as cucumbers with warm water.
Step 5
You can feed the worms with food waste, such as potato or other vegetable peels, moldy bread, tea leftovers, and coffee grounds. You can also use last year's leaves, hay, fresh grass.
The worms are vegetarians, so it is better not to add meat waste to the top dressing. The worms have no teeth, so the feed must first be chopped up. This can be done with a meat grinder, and then mix the resulting mass well. The feed is then spread evenly over the soil surface.
