An original hand-made washcloth will not only come in handy on a bath day, but also decorate the interior of your bathroom. You can weave it either with the help of a shuttle or without any accessories, depending on what kind of sponge you need. In any case, you need to pick up tough, durable threads.

It is necessary

  • - synthetic twine;
  • - propylene thread;
  • - fishing line;
  • - hook on the thickness of the thread;
  • - a nail;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut a thread 7-8 cm long from a skein of synthetic twine. Tie it into a ring with any strong knot. Cut several threads, equal in length to the diameter of the future washcloth. Fold them in half. The ring can be hung, for example, on a nail or on the ledge of the back of a chair to make the weaving more comfortable. But you can do this a little later.

Step 2

Pass the folded thread into the ring with the fold to form a loop. Pull the loose ends into this loop. Grabbing the thread of the ring. Tighten the knot. Make sure the ends of the thread remain straight. Tie the next thread and all the others in the same way. You should have something like a "sun" with numerous rays. The warp threads can be multi-colored. You can make a two-color washcloth by making a base and braid from different types of synthetic twine.

Step 3

Bend a piece of thread 5-6 cm long from the ball. Do not cut it, but tie it to one of the rays, at the point where it joins the ring. It is necessary to fasten it in the same way as the rays themselves, that is, by pulling out the loop and pulling the end of the thread and the ball into it. Align the end of the thread with the beam.

Step 4

You can braid the base with rep knots. A sponge woven in this way in a spiral will turn out to be softer than if it is made with straight or oblique knotted weaving. The base beams can be wrapped one by one or in pairs. With any method, pass the thread from the ball under the adjacent warp thread, pull it up and repeat this operation again, making one turn. First grasp the next thread from above, draw it down, bring it up again and also make one turn. Wrap the third thread as the first, and the fourth as the second. Weave the spiral until you get a circle of the desired diameter. In this case, the free ends of the rays should be 5-6 cm long.

Step 5

Perform the penultimate row with knots. Do not wrap the thread from the ball around each beam, but tie it with a double knot. Tie the ends of the rays in pairs. If you wrapped a pair of warp threads, separate them and fasten each with a nearby thread of an adjacent pair.

Step 6

The handle can be crocheted or woven. In the first case, do not tear off the thread, but tie a chain of air loops of the required length. Tie the other end to a washcloth to create a loop. Tie the chain on both sides with single crochets or half-crochets.
