Currently, there is no shortage of bath accessories, including washcloths. The consumer is offered a huge variety of washcloths of various shapes, textures and colors. But if you have the simplest knitting skills, then you can significantly save your budget, even on such trifles as a washcloth and knit it yourself. Moreover, the resulting bath and bath product can be made taking into account the wishes of the household, and also presented as a small gift.
It is necessary
Polypropylene threads in different colors, 5 knitting needles
Instructions
Step 1
Before knitting a loofah with knitting needles, you need to purchase special threads for work. This is a somewhat unusual synthetic "yarn" made from polypropylene. And you can find it not in knitting departments, but rather in hardware stores, since its main purpose is the role of an ordinary rope (for tying seedlings, packaging goods, etc.). Moreover, polypropylene threads are not only white. Their color gamut is wide enough, and therefore products can be obtained very colorful, taking into account color preferences.
Step 2
Before knitting a sponge made of polypropylene, you must first practice on ordinary threads. Moreover, you will have to apply not only the traditional skills of knitting facial loops, but also the ability to work with elongated loops. To knit an elongated loop in the sample, we collect 10-12 loops, we knit them with the front ones. The reverse side is knitted according to the pattern, that is, with purl loops. Starting a new row, we knit one front loop (with a free thread at work), pull the loop with the left hand (thumb or forefinger), transfer and leave it before work, and again knit the front loop. Then we repeat the pattern until the loops are over. We knit the next row according to the pattern, but without long loops, in order to secure them.
Step 3
To knit a loofah with knitting needles, 5 knitting needles are required (as for socks). We cast on 32 loops (8 for each knitting needle), although there may be a different number, depending on the width of the washcloth. First, knit 3-4 rows with front loops. Then we move on to the drawing, alternating rows with elongated loops with rows with front loops.
Step 4
To make the washcloth colorful, you can change the color of the threads every 5-7 rows. Everyone determines the length of the product for themselves: some like long and narrow washcloths, others prefer short and wide ones. The work ends in the same way as it begins - by knitting 3-4 rows with front loops.
Step 5
You will get a fluffy shaggy pipe, which serves as the base of the sponge. The ropes for her can be knitted with garter stitch needles. To do this, take 3-5 loops from the edge of the washcloth, knit a "string" of the required length and fix it on the other edge. Then do the same on the other side of the washcloth. You can simplify your work a little and sew colored ribbons as strings, which will serve as an additional decoration.
Step 6
If the washcloth is knitted for a child, then the threads can be taken softer, for example, cotton. In addition, such a loofah can be decorated with a knitted muzzle of a favorite animal, for example, a bunny or a bear.
