In most dances, the skirt is an indispensable element of a woman's costume, especially when it comes to flamenco dance. A beautiful fluttering skirt emphasizes the gracefulness and femininity of the dance, focuses on the dancer's movements, and helps to create a certain atmosphere on the stage. Not a single dance performance, and not a single workout is complete without a skirt. You can sew a flamenco skirt yourself by choosing a suitable style.

Step 1
Regardless of whether you are going to sew a skirt from ruffles or from gussets, it must meet several requirements - the skirt must be long, wide, and emphasizing the hips.
Step 2
The simplest version of a dance skirt is a ruffle skirt. Even a novice seamstress can easily sew such a skirt. For this skirt, you will need a fabric that you will cut into strips 15-20 cm wide. From another fabric, cut out a yoke belt 20 cm wide. In order for the yoke to fit better on the figure, sew it from elastic jersey.
Step 3
Calculate the length of the first ruffle of the skirt by multiplying the waist circumference in centimeters by 1, 5, or 2. To determine the length of the next ruffle, multiply by 1, 5, or 2 the length of the previous ruffle; and use the same principle to calculate the length of all other frills.
Step 4
On each ruffle, do a light pleating, then sew it into a ring. Sew a new one to the bottom of the finished frill, also having pleated on its upper edge in advance. To make the skirt look more original, you can make some ruffles from lace or from fabric of a different color.
Step 5
You can also sew a skirt of a more complex cut - a flared skirt with a yoke. Choose the width of the flare at your own discretion - it can be "half sun", "sun" or "double sun". To sew this skirt, as well as for the previous one, you do not need to build patterns - it is marked directly on the fabric.
Step 6
For a half-sun skirt, you need an even semicircle cut out of fabric - in this case, the skirt will have one seam. Cut out the yoke separately, based on the height of the hip line and waist circumference.
