Instructions

Step 1

Buy a mosaic set from an art store. In terms of the shape and color of the parts, it can be typeset (with the same elements) or piece (all parts are different). Choose a mosaic "loose" or already applied to transparent film.

Step 2

Spread the adhesive over the cleaned and degreased surface using a notched trowel. In accordance with the diagram, lay out all the parts one by one, moving from the bottom row to the top. Separate the mosaic on the film from the protective layer and apply to the surface as a whole.

Step 3

You can achieve the same decorative effect with less cost by assembling a mosaic from scrap materials.

Step 4

Draw a sketch of the mosaic you want to lay out. Determine the shape and size of the details of the drawing, as well as the color scheme.

Step 5

Find the right pieces for the pattern. You can use fragments of old ceramic tiles, stones rolled by the sea, shells. If you have any unnecessary wooden slats, saw them into equal square or triangular pieces. For laying out small parts, coffee beans and nutshells are suitable. You can also shred CDs and use both the colored top and the mirrored bottom.

Step 6

Lay out the entire pattern from the finished parts on the table. Apply glue to the surface you want to decorate with the mosaic. Choose the one that's right for your materials - ceramics, wood or plastic. Cover a small area of the surface with glue so that it does not dry out. Lay out the pieces of the puzzle in turn, repeating the pattern previously laid out on the table.

Step 7

Keep track of the distance between the parts - it should be the same. If glue gets on the surface of the mosaic, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth.

Step 8

When the assembled mosaic is dry, fill in the gaps between the pieces. Use a tile grout for these purposes - choose a suitable color or contrast. Apply the grout with a narrow trowel or a strip of cardboard.
