A great way to decorate an interior is to make a composition from indoor plants. In order to accommodate numerous pots and pots, there are special racks. They can be different in height and shape, including representing a kind of partition that divides the space of the room into two functional zones.
Sooner or later, a person keen on growing indoor plants decides to group them into a spectacular ensemble. In order to make a beautiful flower stand with your own hands, you can use any durable material: wood, metal, bamboo, plastic.
How to make a bamboo flower stand?
Natural bamboo is not easy to buy, so you can purchase a plastic imitation of it to make a rack. You also need to prepare 2-3 boards 15-20 cm wide from solid wood (beech, hornbeam, larch, oak), steel wire with a cross section of 2-3 mm, fasteners (screws, nails). The rack should be a composition of two supports with a cross section of 40-50 mm, the height of which is 2-3 cm higher than the height of the room, 2-4 wooden shelves and several metal holders for flower pots.
Steel wire is twisted into a ring with a diameter of 35-40 cm, bamboo is attached from its outer side. You should get a solid round support. Trunks can be attracted to each other using fishing line, threads, thin wire. There should be at least two bamboo connection points: at the bottom and at the top of the support. Another rack is made in the same way.
The boards are sanded from all sides, two holes are drilled into them, the diameter of which is slightly more than the cross-section of bamboo supports. The wood is painted or varnished. After it dries, the shelves are put on the racks and fixed at the desired height. For example, the lower one can be installed at a distance of 50-60 cm from the floor, and the upper one - 40-50 cm from the ceiling. Fasten the boards with wire.
Then the flower stand is placed in the desired location. For reliable fixation with the ceiling, holes are drilled in it with a depth of 1-2 cm, corresponding to the outer diameter of the bamboo supports. Circles cut from cork are attached to these recesses. For this, you can use any suitable glue or polyurethane foam. The supports are installed in recesses, at the same time knocking them off the floor. On the wall next to the counter and on the supports, metal holders for flower pots are attached.
What should be the flower stands?
The main requirement for flower stands is stability. These structures must be strong, covered with protective material. For wood, these are impregnations with antiseptic properties, for metal - anti-corrosion primers and paints. Plastic does not need additional processing. All elements of the rack (shelves, holders) must be securely fastened, as they will have to withstand a prolonged weight load.
