The kids are so cute and touching that you want to capture in your memory every minute of their childhood. And parents do everything for this: they take many photographs, keep diaries, write down medical data, cherish children's drawings, etc. Another way to capture childhood is to make a cast of the pen. The stores sell special kits for this. But there is a method that is much cheaper. You can use regular plaster of paris or do-it-yourself salt dough.

Parents always want to leave something in memory of the child's childhood

It is necessary

  • - container for measuring ingredients;
  • - water;
  • - salt;
  • - flour;
  • - rolling pin;
  • - oven;
  • - decor elements;
  • - paints.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a measuring container. You can select, for example, a mug and measure all the ingredients with it. You will need: one mug of salt, two mugs of flour and a mug of water. All this must be thoroughly mixed until smooth. The result should be a very tough dough.

Step 2

Roll out the dough. As a result, you get a layer, the thickness of which should be about two centimeters. This is the blank for the future cast.

Step 3

Make an impression of the handle of the crumbs. The child's clean and always dry palm must be pressed into the resulting dough blank. An imprint will remain in it (if desired, you can make a footprint nearby, or you can make two palms).

Step 4

Determine the shape of the impression. It can be made in the form of a sun, a cloud, a heart, etc. You need to trim off excess dough around the edges. If this cast is to hang on the wall in the future, then you need to make a hole for the ribbon with a cocktail straw. But it should not be placed too close to the edge.

Step 5

Decorate the cast. If you plan to use additional decor, then you need to press coffee grains, cereals, beads (but not plastic, because they will melt), etc. along the edges of the dough.

Step 6

Preheat the oven and place the cast in there. The temperature should be one hundred to one hundred and twenty degrees. The dough should be in the oven for two to three hours. Then the cast should be removed and cooled.

Step 7

Color in the resulting cast. If desired, the resulting cast can be painted with paints and varnished on top. For memory on the back, you can write the date of manufacture. The impression can be made in the form of a painting and placed on the wall. It will decorate the interior for many years and remind of the happy childhood of your baby.
