When hunting for woodcocks that have settled for the withdrawal of young animals, it is necessary to choose the right parking place. The bird seeks to fly along the edges of large fields, avoiding their intersection.
Step 2
Sometimes it is useful to settle in a small meadow, which the woodcock flies quite willingly. It is especially advisable to take such a position if the terrain allows you to see the small forest well, and, therefore, to notice the flightless woodcock earlier. At the end of spring, this circumstance acquires special significance, since a forest covered with young foliage prevents timely detection of the appearance of a bird and an accurate determination of the place of its fall after a successful shot.

When hunting for grouse currents, it should be borne in mind that grouse no longer fly to them, engaging in incubation of eggs. Birds, continuing to sing, walk singly on the tops of a rare forest. Therefore, it is better to give up the hut and hunt for blackies from the approach. With a cautious decoy - use the female's voice to attract the rooster to come running or fly in for a shot. Ordinary approach hunting is greatly simplified at this time, since the foliage that appears on the trees makes it easier to approach such an incredulous bird at a slaughter distance.

Drake hunting dramatically changes the last third of the season. Ducks finish laying eggs and cannot be detected by males, who go to the faithful decoy especially viscously. Use a decoy duck at this time in hunting areas with abundant game. Males trustingly sit on the water not far from her. The choice of a place for a hut does not play a big role in this period. It is enough that it does not stand out much among the vegetation.

If decoy ducks have already begun to rush (which reduces their activity), take a decoy drake in a dark basket to hunt. Hearing the familiar cry of a decoy duck released into the water, he will give a voice and the duck will scream, which will attract the game.
