With the arrival of spring, people rejoice at the birds arriving from warm lands, their sonorous songs and chirps. But city dwellers can also please the birds by making a birdhouse in front of their window. Then every day it will be possible to observe the birds, their life, and even to participate in it ourselves.

Instructions
Step 1
Start your birdhouse from the bottom. Saw a 10x10, 10x12 or 12x12 cm board. These parameters are standard for the bottom of the birdhouse. For the four sides of the birdhouse, prepare boards 34 cm high. The side parts should be the same length as the bottom, that is, 10-12 cm. Add 2 cm from the sides to the lengths of the back and front boards.
Step 2
Drill a hole in the center of the faceplate at a distance of 8 cm from the top cut. For a tit, a diameter of 25 mm will be sufficient, for a starling it must be increased to 32-35 mm.
Step 3
Beat the front plate to the bottom, and then the side parts. Attach the fixing rail: drill a small hole in the back board and attach a copper hook about 2 cm in size. Nail the back wall to the base of the birdhouse.
Step 4
Make a roof for a bird house with the expectation that it should overhang a little in front and on the sides so that rainwater does not fall into the birdhouse, but simply flows down. This device will also save birds from too bright and hot sun. For such a birdhouse, dimensions of 15x17 cm are perfect.
Step 5
Glue the perch to the front wall, just below the main hole. For this, use a wooden rod 7-8 cm long. Arriving birds will sit on it before flying inside.
Step 6
Sand the entire surface of the birdhouse, but leave the inside of the board unplaned. Ideally, there should be serifs on the inside for the chicks so that they can easily get out of the house. Paint your finished birdhouse with bird-safe paint. Remember that light colors will attract less heat, so this house can be cold for the birds. Ideally, of course, the birdhouse should mimic the holes in the trees, that is, the natural habitats of birds. Therefore, you should avoid bright colors and opt for natural shades. For an even greater resemblance to the hollow on the front side, you can glue the bark.
