The tailcoat has come down to us from time immemorial and is a formal men's clothing for dinner parties and banquets. For a tailcoat, dense suiting fabric is suitable, as well as velvet. The product is necessarily sewn on a lining.
Instructions
Step 1
Take all the necessary measurements: product length, sleeve length, chest girth, waist girth, hip girth. Prepare tailcoat fabric and lining fabric. Make a tailcoat pattern on the newspaper. Lay out the front tailcoat pattern on a single layer of fabric. Mark with chalk the transverse stripes that correspond to the bust, waist and hem. Turn the front pattern over and use it as a template for the second half of the product shelf. Cut out a second shelf in the same way. The transverse stripes of both halves of the product must match.
Step 2
Cut out the details of the back, keeping in mind that their length is longer than that of the front of the tailcoat. Cut out the sleeves of the tailcoat and the collar. Pin off the pattern and cut with scissors, leaving a seam allowance of about 1.5-2 centimeters.
Step 3
Re-cut the pattern onto the backing fabric in the same way as in the previous steps. Cut out all the details. Sweep the details of the main fabric. Baste the sleeves and collar to the shelves. Try it on. If the tailcoat has sat down to the figure, proceed with further processing of the product.
Step 4
Place the collar and lapels on the glue, iron. Sweep the lining and sweep it over the base piece. Try again to see how the pad fits. If the whole village is perfect, start processing the tailcoat on a typewriter.
Step 5
Sew all the details of the tailcoat and stitch the lining to it. Finish all seams and cuts. Sew on buttons and loop. Iron the product to form and shrink as needed.
