Bruce Lee is an American-Hong Kong actor, screenwriter and, of course, a true master of kung fu. The militants with his participation remain spectacular today. Unfortunately, Bruce passed away early enough due to an absurd coincidence.
Biography and personal life
Bruce Lee, who was given the name Lee Yong Fan at birth, was born on November 27, 1940 in San Francisco. He was of Chinese origin by his father. The head of the family, Lee Hoi Chen, was a successful theatrical actor, and his mother, Grace Lee, had a rich inheritance, so the family did not experience financial difficulties. From childhood, the boy was used to calling the American name Bruce, which remained with him in the future. The family actually lived in two countries, and subsequently Lee decided to take American citizenship.
Already in the first year after birth, Bruce played a newborn in the film "The Golden Gate of the Girl". It is not surprising that throughout his childhood he enthusiastically mastered various types of arts, having managed to become a professional in cha-cha-cha dancing, starred in several assorted films and, of course, start mastering kung fu, which he studied under the guidance of master Ip Man. Also, the young man was engaged in jiu-jitsu, judo and boxing, but it was kung fu that remained a priority for him. Lee is the author of his own training and nutrition method, which is still adhered to in the world.
The main development of Bruce Lee's film career took place in the 60s and 70s. During this period, the series "The Green Hornet" was released with his participation, as well as the action films "Big Boss", "Fist of Fury" and "Return of the Dragon", which made a significant contribution to the glorification of oriental martial arts around the world. Lee himself became an actor of the first magnitude and a real idol among millions of people.
In 1972, another popular action film with Bruce Lee, "Entering the Dragon", was released, which became the final full-length project in his life. In 1978, the actor began filming in the film "Game of Death", but did not complete the work due to sudden death. As for the personal life of a martial artist, he found happiness in the face of a woman named Linda Emery, who once attended his kung fu classes. They married in 1964 and later became the parents of Brandon's son and Shannon's daughter.
Death of Bruce Lee
At the 33rd year of his life, the fate of the actor was tragically cut short right during the work on the film "The Game of Death", the title of which turned out to be, as if, prophetic. This happened on July 20, 1973: for some time Bruce complained of a severe headache caused by excessive work stress. On that day, according to witness statements, he took the pain-relieving pill "Ecuadjestic" containing aspirin. Soon the actor was found unconscious and without signs of breathing. The doctors who arrived at the scene pronounced death.
An autopsy showed that the actor died due to cerebral edema, which, apparently, led to the taken pill. A statement was made about the presence of Bruce Lee's extremely rare allergy to aspirin, which he did not even suspect. The actor's fans were unimaginably shocked by the news of his such ridiculous death and even began to build theories about a conspiracy against the martial arts master and his elimination by competitors. The version was not confirmed. It is worth noting that the film "Game of Death" was filmed with the help of stunt doubles for the main actor - Tai Chun Kim and Yen Biao.
The idol of millions was buried in Seattle in front of a huge crowd of people. In the second homeland of Bruce Lee, Hong Kong, a monument to the actor in a fighting stance was erected, which remains a favorite place for tourists today. As for the children of the master, they followed in his footsteps and became actors. Unfortunately, Brandon Lee, like his father, died tragically during filming: he was struck by a bullet from a prop pistol that was accidentally loaded.
