Since we are working with felt, we need to leave allowances for the seams. A few millimeters are enough. Sewing with felt is very convenient because you don't have to turn the parts inside out, which is ideal for beginners. In addition, this material has a suitable texture. We must have at least 4 colors - two for each cat. That is, the front part is made of felt of one color, and the back is made of another.
Step 2
It's a good idea to shape the tails. Since we are making a product for Valentine's Day, they can be combined like a heart, but for this they need to be initially given the desired shape. Consider this when creating a pattern.
Step 3
Now we need to fasten the parts together. Felt has no seamy side. It is very convenient to fasten parts together, since the workpieces will not need to be turned inside out. Do not forget that the lower part is not immediately sewn together, as there must be a round piece sewn in there. Then our products will become stable. But many simply sew halves of each cat, since hanging decorations for the interior are also relevant.
Step 4
Usually, special eyes are used in the creation of toys. This is especially interesting when creating cats, because for them there are eyes with elongated pupils, but in this case we make lovebirds, they are immersed in themselves, and they are only interested in the inner world, so their eyes are dreamily closed and simply embroidered with threads.
Step 5
Decorate the animals. It is better to do this at the initial stage, but many sew decorations on finished toys, because then it becomes clear how everything will look in finished form. Make two bows from one kind of ribbon. One - for the girl, on the head. The other is for the cat, around the neck. If you have a flower for decoration, make a decoration for the cat's head out of it, or make a bow, it is also convenient to attach it to ready-made felt toys.
Step 6
When our cats are sewn, they will need to be made lovebirds. Many people simply wrap them with lace or ribbon. If the ribbon feels slippery, lace can be used. Now it is sold in a huge assortment, there are very wide series. This will hold the toys together tightly and firmly. No need to tighten the knots tightly, the tape has a purely symbolic meaning. And if the toys are sewn, then lace plays an exclusively ideological and symbolic role.
