Due to their beauty and sophistication, wax dolls are a wonderful interior decoration. The material used to make them is environmentally friendly and malleable, which makes the creative process easy and enjoyable. To make such a doll with your own hands, it is not at all necessary to be a master, it is enough to have a desire and a little free time.

It is necessary

  • - wax;
  • - a small tin container;
  • - red and white oil paint;
  • - plaster mold;
  • - petroleum jelly;
  • - colorless varnish;
  • - PVA glue;
  • - wire;
  • - trims of old stockings and pieces of aluminum foil;
  • - wide brush;
  • - cotton swab;
  • - nail polish remover;
  • - Matt lacquer

Instructions

Step 1

Before starting work, prepare all the necessary tools and materials for this. When the preparations are over, you can get to work. Melt a small piece of wax in a water bath, adding in small portions the red oil paint. Color another piece of wax in the same way, but this time in white. Pour the melted wax into small containers and wait until it hardens.

Step 2

Now start making a flesh-colored wax mixture. Melt the base wax in a water bath, adding the previously prepared red and white cubes to it until it acquires the desired color. The finished material can be left in the dish and reheated if necessary.

Step 3

Next, move on to making the face. Lubricate the plaster mold with a thin layer of Vaseline and make a cast from a finished or homemade doll so that it consists of two separate parts. At the end of the procedure, collect the resulting parts together, dry them and cover the inside with a colorless varnish. Then melt the wax and pour it into the prepared mold. Please note that while cooling, the wax mixture tends to decrease in volume. That is why, when it will not stick to your fingers, slightly push its central part, while forming the inner surface of the mask. Make 2 eye sockets in place of the eyes and wait for the wax to harden.

Step 4

Remove the finished casting from the mold and proceed with the installation of the eyes. Using a stack, carefully deepen the eye sockets from the inside, and then cut out the contours of the eyes from the outside. Attach the eyelash blanks to the eyelids and insert your eyes from the seamy side. If you like the work done, fill the mask with a wax mixture and secure the eyelashes with PVA glue. The face is ready and now you can proceed to making the body.

Step 5

Based on the size of the face, make a skeleton skeleton of the doll out of wire. After that, move on to creating the base. Wrap those parts of the body that will be hidden under clothing with scraps of old stockings, and those that will be open (for example, hands, neck and head) with aluminum foil. Begin to wax the finished frame using a wide brush. When the thickness of the applied layer is sufficient, and it cools down a little, start sculpting. Flatten the surface and sharpen the body towards the end of the work. Use melted wax to secure the doll's face to the frame and sculpt the ears.

Step 6

Carry out the final work to smooth the wax surface. Take a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover and smooth out your body in a circular motion, giving it a shine. After that, apply makeup to the doll using regular decorative cosmetics and apply matte sculpture polish all over the body. The doll is ready and now all that remains is to attach her hair and dress it up.
