Many associate the New Year with ease, because they have to leave everything old in the past and start the year from scratch, so to speak, light. To prolong the feeling of some happy weightlessness, decorate your apartment with graceful Christmas balls made of thread.
How to make a ball of thread
For Christmas balls made of thread, you will need:
- a ball of white, silver or pale blue woolen thread
- Balloons
- large needle
- plastic cup
- PVA glue
Purchased balloons are often stiff. Stretch the balloon out with your fingers to make it easier to inflate. Inflate a small balloon, tie a knot. Cut off the tail.
Thread the needle and pierce the glass through the bottom with the needle so that the thread moves freely inside the glass. Remove the needle.
Fill the glass one third full with glue. As you pull the thread, it will be evenly coated with glue, which will allow you to glue the thread from either side. Hold the glass of glue in one hand and the ball in the other. Slowly pull the thread out of the glass and wrap the ball in any order (but always through the middle), lightly pressing the thread with your finger to glue it. Try not to pinch the balloon, otherwise it will burst ahead of time.
In order for Christmas balls made of threads to have a fancy pattern, similar to openwork knitting, the thread lines should not fit snugly against each other. You can mix different thread colors to create a colorful ball. Prepare the required number of balls (of different sizes) and leave for a day so that the glue dries well.
Pierce the balloon with scissors to deflate it and carefully remove it from the thread sheath. For additional decoration, you can cover a ball of threads with glitter (glitter glue) using a brush, or attach beads or other decorative elements with a glue gun.
How to decorate an apartment with balls of threads
Balls of thread can be put in a wicker basket on top of green spruce branches or you can decorate a chandelier with them by attaching New Year's rain loops to the balls. You can also "mold" a snowman from these balls and put them against the background of the New Year tree.
You can decorate the apartment with balls of threads for the new year with the help of a garland. Gently attach small glowing elements to the ball and hide the wires with twigs, ribbons, etc. Attention: do not try to make a backlight for balls from candles, this is a fire hazard!
