A ski trip can be a great pleasure for both adults and children. However, not everyone has special skis that allow skiing without a ski track. They are most often used by hunters. In all other cases, a ski track is needed. It is best to cut it with a snowmobile and a special cutter, but you can use a more affordable method.

It is necessary

  • - snowmobile;
  • - cutter;
  • - snowcat;
  • - children's sleds without a back;
  • - a pair of old skis.

Instructions

Step 1

Much depends on the length of the track, its location and what kind of ski run it is intended for. If you want to make a classic ski track for children on the territory of a kindergarten, school or summer cottage, skate it. Tie a pair of old skis to the children's sled so that the sled turns out to be runners up during movement. Put on a homemade "snowmobile" some kind of load, such as a barrel of water, a large stone, etc. The weight should be about 25 kg.

Step 2

Drive the sled a couple of times along the entire trail. After that, go on it a few laps on skis. Two smaller tracks for sticks are formed by themselves, but you can also roll them. At the same time, one ski goes along an already formed track, the second one next to it. Make the exact same track on the other side. If the snow is not very deep, two or three laps will be enough.

Step 3

It is better to lay a long track for a classic course with three people. Compact the snow in the same way as in the previous case. Stand behind each other at some distance. The first skier should spread his feet a width corresponding to the distance between the tracks of the track itself. The second puts his left foot in the right track, and the right one next to the ski track on the virgin soil. Thus, he will simultaneously roll the track and lay the pole path. The third participant is laying the second path. Walk a few laps in this way.

Step 4

The old way of preparing a ski track is available to everyone, but it takes some time. Therefore, use the snowcat if you have the slightest opportunity. This is a fairly heavy tracked vehicle, allowing even fairly large snowdrifts to be leveled. The ratrak will tamp the snow and cut the track in one circle. This is the fastest way, and the track is very good. However, a snow bulldozer is not available to everyone, so other methods have to be used.

Step 5

The most popular way to lay the track with a snowmobile. For this, there are special devices. The track for the classic course is cut with a cutter, and for the ridge one you need a harrow. Prepare the cutter by setting the desired mode. The design of this device allows you to both cut and push the track. If the snow is deep and dense, or even crust has already formed, use the first option. It is better to push soft loose snow.

Step 6

Drive the snowmobile with the device attached to it along the track. You will get a ski track no worse than the one that the snowcat cuts, but the method itself requires less costs.
