For those who love to paint, winter is one of the brightest sources of inspiration. With only paints or pencils available, you can depict a variety of phenomena - a blizzard, a frozen river, spruce branches covered with snow and even a snow slide.

It is necessary

colored pencils (or paints with a brush), A3 paper

Instructions

Step 1

If you want to draw a snow slide, use at least pencils, at least paints, just remember that when depicting snow drifts, a certain skill is required when mixing paints and smooth painting. Therefore, use paints whenever possible. The first thing to start with is preparation for drawing. Find an A3 landscape sheet, as well as paint jars with a rich color scheme. Take a comfortable position at the table and make sure that there is enough light from the window or from the lamp.

Step 2

Sketch the slide in pencil without drawing too much detail. To do this, draw a curved line, as if depicting a rainbow, and below it a few more lines. Such a multiplicity will allow you to better navigate the light and shade of the picture.

Step 3

Tackle the basic tone of the snow slide. Mix white, black and blue on the palette for a lighter shade of blue-gray. Paint over the slide with white paint, then draw a thick blue-gray strip at its base. Take a cotton swab, gently apply it to a fresh strip and slowly pull it towards the top of the slide, thereby lightening its color. Ideally, the top of the snow slide will remain white, and the color transition in the main drawing will be smooth.

Step 4

Once you get the basic tone of the snow slide, paint in the shadows. Dip a brush in dark paint and draw short strokes at the foot and along one side of the slide. If you are painting a landscape at night, there should be a lot of gray in the paint, as night snow has a dull palette of colors.

Step 5

To add volume to the snow slide, find a semi-dry brush, dip it in thick white paint and trace the outline of the drawing. If the picture shows several slides, emphasize the volumes of the others in the same way, while making the transitions between them as smooth as possible.
