Some parts of knitted products must be connected with a special knitted seam. First of all, this applies to thin dresses and blouses with set-in sleeves. As a rule, such a seam is used to connect products knitted or on a machine. You can also sew decorative details with such a seam. Its advantage is that it is unobtrusive. If the knitted stitch is done neatly, then it will not be visible at all. The threads should be the same color as the product, but slightly thinner.

It is necessary

  • - product details;
  • - pattern;
  • - iron;
  • - threads from which the product was knitted;
  • - a needle with a large eye.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the parts before assembling the product. If they are knitted from woolen, cotton or silk yarn, they must be steamed or ironed. Just wet the synthetic parts, straighten them and pin them on the pattern. You need to pin or sweep any details on the pattern. In this case, the front side is in contact with the pattern. Steam parts of the woolen garment through a damp cloth. Iron linen, semi-wool, cotton and silk. Do not touch the elastic band and other embossed patterns at all.

Step 2

You can use the following seam to sew in the sleeve and attach the straps. In this case, preparation for assembly begins in the knitting process. Close the loops of the desired parts with an additional thread of a different color. It is best to take contrasting threads so that they can be clearly seen. Find the middle of the sleeve and mark it with a knot in a different color. Pin or baste the sleeve to the back and front details. Align the middle with the shoulder seam.

Step 3

Secure the thread at the bottom of the dowel on the wrong side. Bring it out in turn with the third loop of the sleeve to the front side, then pass it into the second loop of the sleeves and armholes. Pull the thread through, insert the needle from the armhole into the fourth loop and pull the loop of the sleeve through it. From the side, pull the needle and thread again into the third loop. In the section that you have already secured, gradually pull out the additional thread. In this way, sew to the end. From the front side, such a seam resembles a series of purl loops.

Step 4

The loop-to-loop knit stitch is suitable for joining different garments. They can be connected in one direction or in different directions. Secure the thread from the wrong side. Bring it through the first loop of the edge of one part and insert it into the opposite loop of the other. Grab 1-2 threads, bring the needle back to the front side. Pierce the same buttonhole on the first piece you started with. You should have a buttonhole. Repeat the stitch through the second loop and across the entire row.

Step 5

This seam has many varieties. For example, if you are sewing products that are tied in one direction, strictly align the buttonholes. In this case, the knitted stitch looks like an additional front row of loops. If you need to sew in a raglan sleeve or join the side cuts, then you get a herringbone. Fasten the thread at the bottom of the wrong side, bring the needle to the right side through the first loop of the sleeve and insert it into the first loop of the bevel of the shelf. Pull the thread along the wrong side and insert the needle into the second loop of the sleeve, then along the front side into the second loop of the bevel.
