A beautiful tapestry needs a decent frame, which should be in harmony not only with the canvas, but also with the interior of the room where the woven picture will hang. You can decorate the tapestry in a frame or use wooden sticks, round in cross section.

Instructions

Step 1

Take the tapestry to the baguette shop. Choose a suitable molding, these are the planks from which the picture frames are made. As a rule, they are located on fasteners or nails along the walls of the workshop, you can remove the copy you like and attach to the picture. The cost of making a frame consists of the cost of materials (baguette, cardboard, glass) and the work of the master. Keep in mind that the frame will most likely “eat” half a centimeter on each side of the tapestry.

Step 2

Purchase a ready-made tapestry frame from the store. Of course, the simplest copies are on sale, but their cost is much lower than that of frames from a baguette workshop. Another disadvantage of this option is the standard dimensions, for example, you will not find a frame for a tapestry measuring 63 cm by 27 cm. Fold back the fastening elements, take out the cardboard, which will serve as a "shutter". Place the tapestry face down on the glass; you can remove it if you like. Insert the cardboard, fold the fasteners.

Step 3

Use two wood or bamboo sticks. This tapestry design option is good if the canvas has high-quality processed side edges. Place one of the sticks on the bottom edge from the inside out, fold the fabric to the inside, and sew carefully so that the stitches are not visible in the drawing. Repeat the same operation with the top edge of the tapestry. Keep in mind that the sticks should protrude slightly beyond the edges of the canvas. You can fix them with a bead with a large hole or a ring from a children's wooden pyramid. Tie a string on both sides of the top stick, hang it on the wall.

Step 4

If an important design is located at the edges of the canvas, and the design on sticks is not possible, sew loops to the lower and upper parts of the tapestry. Choose a suitable material, its design should not be in dissonance with the woven image. Form rectangles, fold them in half, sew to the top and bottom, place the sticks in the loops. If the width of the tapestry is large, use multiple loops on each side.
